Few things are more Korean than the fad tendency for food mashups. In Hongdae, you can practically throw a rock in any direction and you’ll be apt to break a window of a place that is selling fusion concoctions to appease the insatiable curiosity of Korean foodie culture. Pizza Dons in Hongdae has been doing this since 2008, where they take donkkaseu instead of pizza dough and bake pizza toppings on it, thus becoming ‘pizza donkkaseu‘. Strangely enough, even though they’ve been going strong for some time, the concept hasn’t become widespread, aside from one particular place in Busan.
