The summer months are upon us in Korea and that can mean only one thing. An incessant urge to try to spot air conditioning units from the corner of your eye, make a mad dash to its cool breezes and just park yourself in front of it for 10 minutes, before venturing out again into sweltering heat. Everland, fortunately, has a wet and wild remedy for its visitors to counter the rising temperatures. Their yearly Summer Splash recently started up again on June 20 and runs until August 31, just long enough to get through those grueling months.
Once in Korea’s famed amusement park, you’ll begin to see how this summer festival has transformed the area into a watery world, complete with blowing cool mist at seemingly every corner, which gets all the more intense as you get closer to the center of the park.
Everland’s refreshing landmarks can still be found, such as flowing fountains nestled among pristine gardens. But some cool highlights exist to bring down your body temperature in picturesque settings, as in the case of what they’ve done with the Twinkling Fairy Garden and its blowing cool mist and fairy tale atmosphere.
But the real draw for those seeking to get fully drenched in water would be to get front row seating at the tail end of their Splash Parade, which playfully cranks out over 84 tons of water on the enthused audience and anyone else that’s within range of water cannons and giant squirt guns. Don’t worry, you can either bring your own raincoats or buy them there.
But word to the wise, don’t expect to stay dry during your next visit to Everland. But given the heat, maybe that’s a good thing.
