Cheongsando is the first-ever Asian Cittaslow and the island has been designated as the must-see spot by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Cheongsando Slow Walking Festival aims to slow down the fast paced everyday life of modern people to a more slowed tempo coinciding with nature’s pace. The island is surrounded by the blue sea of Namhae and the waves of yellow canola flowers along with the green barley leaves. Experience the natural purity, culture and history of Cheongsando through this festival. Get rid of stress from your everyday life momentarily.
The Cheongsando Slow Roads are used to connect neighboring villages on Cheongsan Island. Each road was named Slow Road because anyone who set on the road could not help but linger, spellbound by the beautiful scenery. As of 2010, there are a total of 11 paths covering 42.195km. Each path was created to offer a blend of scenery and the stories surrounding the various roads. These roads will provide the chance to enjoy the slowness of nature. The more slowly and deeply you walk the fresher experience you will have. Take a step on the Slow Roads towards the slowness of nature and the happiness that follows. As we live in modern times, we do not realize how much faster we move. It might be the chance to step back and realize that our life may be going too fast and nature is not willing to catch up with the pace we move.
Take a step to a more harmonized and peaceful adventure at the Cheongsando Slow Walking Festival. Enjoy all of the festivities while becoming one with nature. We cannot forget the influence nature has on us and our daily lives. Sit back and learn to appreciate it more. It might be helpful to cope with your stressful lives.
