Jump combines martial arts and drama into one nonverbal musical play.
Jump has been popular in Korea ever since it first hit the stage in July 2003. Right after, it also had a remarkable international success. After performing at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the show went around the world, ending up on London’s West End and New York’s off-Broadway, proving that this musical comedy has universal appeal. This show incorporates many of Asia’s martial arts, including Korea’s Taekwondo and Taekkyeon, while telling a story of a family of martial arts specialist who have to defend their house from robbers all in a comical way.
The show takes place on a day when a special guest is coming to visit a family of martial arts masters. The family members all scurry about cleaning the house under Grandfather’s pestering. But the drunken uncle messes up everything that the family worked so hard to clean. This is when the guest comes to the house. The young man falls in love with the daughter at first sight. The exciting performance depicts a day in the life of these martial arts masters while fighting off robbers that have come to the house. There are many different fun filled actions that take place while a small love story also takes part.
The show runs daily with two performances daily except for Mondays. Every Monday, there will be only one performance. Please see below for the general information of this performance.
