Since the first BMIMF in 2010, it has been enhancing?Busan’s cultural events’ environment, providing opportunities of the best pure art, and getting more and more compliments from their growing audience. There are about 150 performing artists from 7 countries waiting for the festival this year. A festival for everyone! The only international musical festival in Busan!
Other than the main concert, BMIMF has a Fringe Concert where nationwide pro/amateur performing groups provide the same opportunities to those who have difficulties approaching music. Their goal is to make way for people to become more closer with music. Music is for everyone. The number of performing groups and audiences has been increasing. About 1,100 performers from 59 teams are planning to have 60 performances in total at this year’s festival.
The theme of 2013 BMIMF is ‘Music and Theater’, which makes 2 musical plays -‘The Pianist with 50 fingers’ and ‘Block 15’- on the second day that will highlight the festival. They are to show that music is not something powerless but can be the most amazing way to survive when humans are in crisis. Through this theme, the festival gives you an answer on how to release and cope with modern day stress. Lyrics that sounds like the story of the audiences’ own personal life and lyrics that are motivational and inspirational gives a positive mindset to the audience. After watching the performance, you may feel a lot lighter, positive, and happier on your way back home.
