On June 30th, Daegu-Kyungbuk Crime Victim Center, a private research organization, announced that the ‘Crime victim center for foreigners’ will be established for foreign laborers and immigrant women to help their recovery. There will be a 현판식(a ceremony of putting the new sign up for a new business) at the Daegu district public prosecutor’s office on July 1st.
24 professional counselors and foreign translators from International affairs at Kyungpook University and International human resource development at Yeungnam University will work for this Crime Victim Center for foreigners, which will open in room #2315 new building at the Daegu district public prosecutor’s office.
The center will offer counselling about substandard working conditions, delayed payment of wages, accidents at work, unreasonable dismissal for foreign laborers and domestic violence, and illegal stay issues for immigrant women. The center will also help their recovery and welfare improvement.
